有创意的服务 is the campus resource for ensuring graphic design awareness, consistency and excellence. This office is responsible for the marketing and branding of the University through the more than 700 publications printed or emailed each year. All publications that carry the Frostburg State University name and logo, that are printed with university funds and communicate with prospective students or other outside audiences must be produced or reviewed by creative services. Not included in this category are instructional or advising materials, forms or other materials for internal use or materials produced by or for student groups.

Priorities for 有创意的服务 have been set by the University. The primary focus is external University communications, such as materials sent to prospective students (catalogs, recruiting and marketing materials and 配置文件); second - university-wide publications (catalogs, commencement programs); third - departmental-level publications (specific program or major brochures).

Our office, in tandem with News & Media Services, oversees the implementation of FSU’s marketing and branding initiative. We are available to help individual departments and organizations with logo usage, templates and graphic design support.

All departmental off-campus printing, signage, ad placement, marketing materials, etc., must first be approved by our office.

Contact the office as soon as possible in your planning process. 如果你拖延, you may find you have already missed some important deadlines or perhaps that your expectations exceed your anticipated budget.

Contact our office to schedule a meeting. Come prepared to talk about your target audience, the specifics of your program or event, 你的预算, other promotional efforts you are considering and how you plan to distribute your publication.

You need not have the original manuscript prepared when we first meet, but the job cannot really begin until we receive your copy. Once that happens, your project will be scheduled for production.

Writing and Editing

You are responsible for providing the original copy that will be used in your publication. If you think you need some help finalizing the text, we are here to help you, but it is essential that you contact us early in the planning process to allow enough time for this.

Our editors have two major functions to

• communicate your message as effectively as possible to your particular audience; and
• ensure that all university publications present coherent and consistent messages and images of Frostburg State University.

You will always have a chance to review edited copy before it is printed.
